We are very pleased to announce that, today, Previse has opened its fourth office in Glasgow, Scotland.
Glasgow has, over the last few years, become one of the UK’s most vibrant and exciting cities to work in. It has undergone massive regeneration thanks in part to the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which brought in £1.3 billion in government investment. Importantly, it is also a home to a number of the world’s biggest banks, with JP Morgan’s technology centre in the city as well as Royal Bank of Scotland.
This makes Glasgow an ideal strategic location for Previse’s new office, putting us right in the heart of one of the UK’s fastest growing financial technology hubs and giving us easy access to Scotland’s incredible community of data science academics and graduates – Scotland has more universities in the global top 200 per head of population than any other country except Switzerland.
For Previse team members, Glasgow makes a very attractive offer. With fairly low living costs it has a vibrant cultural scene with everything from Scottish Opera and the world-renowned Glasgow School of Art, to the 13,000 capacity concert venue, the SSE Hydro.
We have been able to welcome Elias Mistler to the Previse team. Elias is a recent data science MSc graduate from Edinburgh University and has joined us as an engineer and will be based out of the new office.
Late payments is something that impacts all of us in the end, be that through higher prices, fewer jobs or less economic growth. Who knows what incredible companies or new innovations have been lost over the years, all because of late payment cash flow problems? It is really very rewarding to be able to use my skills as a data engineer to contribute to a sustainable solution to the problem.” Elias said when I asked him about his new role.
Working in Glasgow is also a huge plus. It really feels like being right in the middle of something very exciting. I think the Scottish technology industry has a really bright and dynamic future ahead, and I am enjoying contributing to that.
This is just the start for us in Scotland. Stand by for more big news over the next few weeks as Previse deepens our relationship with the Scottish technology and business communities.
